This week!
My display is ready to be put up. I have finally finished my Junie B. Jone display. I added the final touches about three days ago. This month I have covered several books and trying to get a hold of the person who will be painting the wall for Evelyn Crowder. After several rings. I decided to bring in a new candidate none other than the o so fabulous Ross Irwin's brother (yes our own interns brother). His paintings are amazing. I attended the last children's program on Thursday the 24th of July. It was a great time several of the kids got awarded for all the reading they did this summer. This week is the fair so it's been a little quite in this neck of the woods. At least between the hours of 4:00 and 6:00. So what else is new.......hmmm. Well I got offered a position at the library as an assistant. (tell you more when I find out more) Well thats all in these parts for now!!!!!

My Display Project

As interns we are required to make a display for the library. As a child I read and absolutely loved Junie B. Jones books. So for my display I have decided to make a display on Junie B. Jones. My display board consists of a pink and white plaid background. There will be a section on the display for the author Barbara Park and a little bit about her. The outside of the board will have all the Junie B. Jones books and a summary about what each one is about. There will be some pictures of Junie B. Jones. I will display the Junie B. Jones books around my display. I will include activies as well (coloring pages, quizes, and handouts) that you can pick up.

Our group project

As interns we are required to create a group project. We have decided that we are going to make a display for Everlyn Crowder. Everlyn Crowder donated a lot of money to our library. She made it possible for us to have the library that we have. In honor of her generosity we are creating a display for her on one of the library walls. We are planning on painting the wall to look like a meadow of wildflowers. Stenciling her name above her picture that we will display in a new frame. There will be a lighting fixture that will shine on the picture. We plan on painting out the quote "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children...To leave the world a better place...to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is too have succeeded."

Fondue Night was really yummy!!!!

Fondue night was June 11th and it was yummy. There was a great turnout. There were 4 Fondues made. The first was a chocolate with a touch of orange. The second was just a plain chocolate fondue. The third was a Parmesan cheese with a touch of cream cheese. The fourth was an apple cider Cheddar fondue. All were very delicious. There were various foods that were dipped in the fondue. We had several fruits: strawberries, bananas, pears, pineapple, grapes, apples. We also had breads: french bread, cake, doughnuts. There was also a game played that night called 99. By the end of the night my tummy was full!!!!
